Student success rates are determined by monitoring the progress of new entering students (a cohort) who begin attending MCTC in the fall of the academic year. Their progress is measured after one year (persistence to second fall) and after three years (completion or transfer at fourth fall). Additionally, the success rates for students of color within the cohort are monitored. Completion rates are measured three years (at fourth fall) after the cohort of students start at MCTC. This rate includes all of the students who complete the requirements of their selected program within those three years. Note that some students may still be attending MCTC and may complete at a later date. Transfer rates are measured three years after the cohort of students started at MCTC. This rate includes all of the students from the cohort who transfer during those three years. The charts below show recent transfer and completion rate trends and the goals set for the cohorts starting in the fall of academic years 2008-09 and 2010-2011.
